There is something extremely satisfying about creating with your hands. It’s one of the reasons I am so passionate about papercrafting! I love the process of creating just as much as I love the final result. Doing something creative every day helps me to feel more complete and well-rounded. It is something I do for me, but results in a finished project that delights everyone around me.
I am especially passionate about scrapbooking and love to encourage everyone I know to work on their own family scrapbooks. Several times a year, I invite my friends or family over to my house for a Scrapbook Night. We work on scrapbook pages, cards, or sometimes we even use the time to organize for future projects. It’s a great night to catch up one another, share what we have been doing, and just have FUN!
One of my favorite things to do for our Crop Nights, is to use my Cricut Expression Electronic Cutting Machine to create a goodie bag for each of my guests.
This time I wanted to do something girly and decided to create a little paper purse for each of my guests filled with chocolate kisses and few scrappy goodies. I used the purse box from the Bridal Shower Cartridgeand cut several of them out in different coordinating patterned papers. All of these papers came from a paper pad and several of them have a fuzzy, flock added to the paper, which makes the purses so much fun to hold! Instead of using the bow cut from the Bridal Shower Cartridge that went with the purse cut, I decided to create a dimensional bow using Cricut Craft Room and the digital cartridge 3D Bows, a Cricut Craft Room Exclusive. I LOVE this digital cartridge! The bows look so sweet and were so much fun to create. The 3D Bows Cricut Craft Room Exclusiveis a definite must-have in my book! I can’t wait to use these bows again and again on other projects!
I wanted to embellish the edge of the purse’s flap. I simply adhered a scrap piece of white cardstock to the underside and then used patterned scissors to cut along the egde.
I purchased large gluesticks from an office supply store and covered the outside of them with coordinating patterned paper. I suggest using the ultra-strong Terrifically Tacky Tape to adhere the patterned paper to the gluesticks. This adhesive is AMAZING and will keep the paper in place as your guests use their gluesticks.
Next, I cut out the eyeshadow box from the Girls’ Makeup Party cartridge. The front of the box is embellished with a crown cut from the same cartridge. This sweet little box has a flip open top with a palette of patterned paper “eyeshadow” on the inside. The mirror was created with silver glitter cardstock. The side of this cute little box opens up so that you can fill it with anything you would like! I am going to fill the box with a handful of rhinestone brads. Breathmints or buttermints would be really fun, too!
Any papercrafter can always use a set of white tags in their stash! I created a stack of white tags for each guest using my Cricut Expression machine and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. Scrapbookers will find them useful as journaling tags, and cardmakers will enjoy incorporating them into their designs. They could even use them as a quick gift tag on a present if they would like! I wrapped the tags together with a long length of white cotton string and added a monogrammed tag. The base of the tag was created with a layered label from the Lite Lacy Labels cartridge. I cut an additional circle top layer that I embossed with my Cuttlebug machine and the Swiss Dots embossing folder for more dimension and then added a white flocked chipboard letter to the top. I love how elegant the white-on-white color scheme feels!
I hope my guests will enjoy their little goodie bags! My daughters are already begging me to make extras so they can each have one to play with.
