Hello again everyone! Ginger Williams here continuing our weekly theme of Graduation projects here on the Cricut Blog. Today I have a graduation card to share with you, featuring the Paper Dolls Teen Scene Cartridge.
I love that the dolls on this cartridge have a so many outfit choices. You can really customize them to almost any event you can think of! I used the graduation outfit for my doll and added her to a bright and fun background that I thought represented just how happy and free I felt after my own graduation.
To give her hair dimension I embossed it with the Cuttlebug Machine and the Mesh Texture Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. There is also a little bit of embossing along the bottom of her gown done with the Pinking Stitch Embossing Border Folder.
To add emphasis to the “free” feeling of the card I cut several small butterflies using the My Quiet Book cartridge and added them all around the top of the card. I also added some banners made from folded over Washi Tape to the top of my card. The Cricut Craft Room Exclusive, New Year’s Eve 2012, provided the perfect date cut, which I added to the bottom of my card.
Hopefully this can give you a few ideas for creating a graduation card of your own–and don’t forget there is a great male version of the graduation set as well on the Paper Dolls Teen Scene Cartridge!
