Now that Easter has come and gone, the school year is winding down. April is already half over and May is quickly approaching. National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th – 11th, so it is time to start thinking of some ways to thank our students’ teachers and make them feel special for their hard work and dedication. Today, I’ve got a quick and easy project that is sure to bring a smile to any teacher’s face. I grabbed up two clear, acrylic clipboards and some vinyl in the kids’ school colors and got busy designing on Cricut Craft Room.
Since I will be creating six of these clipboards, Cricut Craft Room makes it super fast. I can cut out two at a time and be finished in no time. And the vinyl is so east to work with. As you can see, I loaded all three colors onto the mat and then just keep reinserting the same mat each time I cut a different layer. If you’ve never cut with vinyl before, note that the colored side faces up on your cutting mat.
Here are the first two clipboards.
After adding my monogram and polka dots to the clipboard, I tied several pieces of coordinating ribbon onto the clip and then added my tag using baker’s twine. The tag is in the shape of a piece of notebook paper complete with scored lines.
To finish the clipboards off, I plan to wrap them in some cello wrap and curly ribbon. My kiddos are super excited to pass them out to their teachers in a couple of weeks.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my project and that you’ve been inspired to create a quick and easy vinyl project for the special teachers in your life!
