Question by bluebonnets1952: can the cricut machines cut cloth?
I’d like to know if it is capable of cutting cotton material. I’d like to use it to cut quilt patterns, is that possible? Or would it tear up the material? I thought maybe if I starched the material and made it a couple of layers thick it might work. If you have one of these machines please let me know if you think it would work. I don’t want to buy one if it won’t work, I don’t do scrapbooking crafts only sewing crafts. Thanks for any help you may have to offer!

I do not have a Cricut but I have read about people doing this before. It usually involves applying HeatnBond to the fabric which makes it stiff enough for the Cricut to work on. Here is a link to a tutorial from youtube where she uses it to cut letters out for applique. I definitely think it would be possible to use it for quilt patterns. Hope you find it helpful.
