Birthday Party Favors with the Cricut Imagine Machine
Hi again everyone! Ginger Williams with you today to share a Cricut Imagine idea with you. I was super excited to work on some birthday ideas for this weeks theme as birthday parties are one of my favorite reasons for having a Cricut
! There is just so much of a party that you can do yourself and customize with a Cricut
. I used my Cricut
Imagine Machine to make these little birthday party favors for a little girl’s birthday party. They were easy to make in the colors I wanted thanks to the Imagine and the really great paper choices on the Imagine Elise Cartridge!

I started out with a simple square box with a folding lid from the Wrap It Up cartridgeand then paired it with a present cut from the Creative Memories ‘Tis The Season Cartridge–I used theImagine Elise Cartridge on one side of my machine and the Cricut cartridge on the other side of my Cricut
Imagine Machine to fill in each shape before cutting. After adding a little embossing with my Cuttlebug Machine and the Juli’s Garden embossing folderI glued the present cut onto the front of my box. A matching white cut of the first layer of the present went on the back of the box to add to the “shaped box” feel of the project.

Q&A: Is there a way to use a cricut machine like a printer?
Question by Dee: Is there a way to use a Cricut machine like a printer?
I know a Cricut is a laser cutter but what I am wondering is can I make a template on my computer and have a Cricut
machine cut out the letters for me? Or am I only able to use the cartridges available? Is there another machine that would work?

The Cricut is NOT a laser cutter. It uses a blade. You can ONLY use cartridges with the Cricut
. You can not use your own designs on the Cricut
.

Mother’s Day with the Cricut Cake Machine
Hello,! everyone Ginger Williams here again with a Mother’s Day Cricut Cake project to share. I’ve been wanting to get to know my Cricut
Cake Machine a bit better for a couple of months now, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity!

I have played around with cutting pre-made frosting sheets before and found them to be easy and fun to use, but a bit limited in the color selection. This time I wanted to be able to have very specific colors to go along with the very vibrant colors of my Mother’s Day Pink Lemonade Pie, so I turned to gum paste. I purchased some pre-made gum paste from a local hobby store and tinted the different colors myself with some gel based food coloring. This worked out really well. I had the exact colors I wanted and was able to make them in the quantities I needed.
