Save Money with These Frugal Scrapbooking Ideas

Scrapbooking supplies are not cheap. The cost for colorful paper and card stock, stickers, embellishments, and adhesives can really add up. If you are looking for frugal scrapbooking ideas to help cut back on these expenses, keep reading. By using discarded items you find around the house, you will save money and recycle things that would otherwise end up in the landfills.

1. Cereal Boxes

If you have a die cut machine capable of cutting chipboard, such as the Cricut Expression, don’t buy chipboard at the craft store. Instead, use cereal boxes. Once you adhere colorful paper to the cereal box die cuts, no one will ever guess it came from your pantry! You can also use inexpensive cookie cutters as patterns for your cereal box chipboard shapes.

2. Wallpaper Remnants

Many wallpaper remnants are as beautiful as the pricey papers in the scrapbooking stores. Make regular stops at your local paint and wallcovering stores, get to know the staff, and ask them to call you when they have discontinued sample books that they are discarding. Unfortunately, there is a good chance that these samples are not acid-free. Although they may not be suitable for your scrapbook pages, they are the perfect touch for handmade cards and other paper crafting projects.

Cricut Tips for you

As any scrapbooking or paper crafts enthusiast knows, these die cut machines represent a fantastic new way to personalize anything. The sole limits for what the Cricut can create is in your imagination! With over fifty different cartridges to make a choice from, fantastic Design Studio software to expand your horizons, and the intuitive simplicity of use Provo Craft is famous for, you’ll fall completely in love with your little bug! Now you can design on the go with the superb Cricut gypsy handheld scrapbooking device. The good thing about the 3 different Cricut machines mentioned above is that they all use the same cartridges, blades and blade housings. This is extraordinarily convenient for those who decide to swap one type of machine for another since you won’t have to buy a completely new set of cartridges or blades. And to maximise your enjoyment of the Cricut machine’s functionality, here are a few tips for its use : To make mix and matching designs from different cartridges easier, you can use the Cricut Jukebox. This is an add-on that permits you to use up to six cartridges without having to actually switch the cartridges ; you just have to connect the Jukebox to your machine and push some buttons to select the particular cartridge where you want to get your design. You can even link up to 3 Jukeboxes at once, which means you can use up to eighteen cartridges at the same time. Look into other Cricut accessories to explore your options. To lengthen the lifespan of your machines blades, always use paper of good quality and employ a lint roller in removing any paper debris from the blades. Since it’s so hard to find cheap and discount Cricut products on the internet, we’ve set up this website to help you. Check out the amazing savings you can find here!As for the correct care of your cutting mats, it is a good idea to wipe it with a baby wipe after every use. It’s also best to always have an extra set of blades and regularly refer to the manual for the correct settings of blade speed, length and pressure. For those who can only afford to buy one cartridge at first, the Doodlecharm may be your best bet. It’s a favourite of many that are on the lookout for a little scrapbook embellishment. And as with any other purchase, make efforts to do your research in order to get the best price for your cash ; and it would not hurt if you go to stores where you can try the product before making a purchase.
