Has anyone tried the Cricut expressions scrapbooking machine?

It’s expensive and I want to know if anyone has it and likes it. Would anyone recommended it?

What do you like best about your cricut scrapbooking machine?

I scrapbook some, but not for money, and not everyday. I’m trying to figure out if it will be good for me to use in the long run, or if I’d be better off using stickers for letters and shapes.

Tired of using the cricut for scrapbooking?

I have the Cricut and Im tired of the few fonts they have for the machine i have all of them. Does anyone know of a software that is easy as the Cricut, but i can use more fonts ?

Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking is a technique for conserving personal and family history in the shape of pictures, published media, and souvenirs contained in decorated albums, or scrapbooks. By making a scrapbook you are safeguarding the many fond and undying reminders of your folks and using the right supplies is vital. The idea of keeping broadcast materials of personal interest probably dates to straight after the invention of printing. Hobbyists, known as “scrappers” or “scrapbookers,” get together and scrapbook at each other’s houses, local scrapbook stores, scrapbooking conventions, retreat centers, and even on cruises. The attendees share tips and concepts as well as enjoying a social outlet. The term “crop,” a reference to cropping or trimming released pictures, was coined to describe these events. Many were closed due to mismanagement, while others weathered the troublesome times. While sellers had historically kept away from the home based market due to fraud, they started to warm to the idea of the non-traditional sales channels as a technique to get their products in front of more purchasers thru home parties and workshops. Learning a way to make a scrapbook can let you give a very special, awfully personal present to a buddy or member of the family. I also find making scrapbooks to be extremely relaxing. I believe the greatest joy of making a scrapbook is that there is no right or wrong. Each scrapbook is unique the most significant scrapbooking supply is the album itself, which can be permanently bound, or allow for insertion of pages. There are more formats,eg mini albums and accordion-style fold-out albums. Basic materials include background papers ( including printed and cardstock paper ), photo corner mounts ( or other means of mounting pictures like adhesive dots, photo mounting tape, or acid-free glue ), scissors, a paper trimmer, art pens, archival pens for journaling, and mounting glues ( like thermo-tac ). Numerous accessories, called “embellishments”, are used to brighten scrapbook pages. The use of die cut machines is also increasingly popular ; in recent times a number of electronic die-cutting machines resembling a plotter with a drag knife have hit the market, enabling scrappers to use their computer to create die cuts out of any shape or font with the use of free or 3rd party software. Anything, in fact, that might help tell the story of a special point in time. If the items are too massive to be included you could scan or image them to use in your layouts. Actually, as you get more experienced you get faster, but that’s not always the case. As you learn more techniques and start using more gildings and mediums, it can take even longer to create your pages! But that’s what scrapbooking is about! Taking your time and putting plenty of effort into your work, to ensure that you will have gorgeous memories that will last longer than a lifetime! Even the most creative folk need some help. And it’s completely acceptable to “scraplift” ( borrow others concepts ) for your own personal use. Most of all, have fun and be creative! And do not forget to check out this site for cheaper scrapbooking materials.

Cricut Design Studio: 7 Things Every Beginner Needs to Know

You finally purchased the  Cricut Design Studio software. Most likely your next question is, “Now what do I do?” Here are seven things you need to know  to jump start your learning of the program.

You can design with all of the cartridges, but you can only cut with the ones you have. Cricut Design Studio has every available cartridge loaded into the program. You can create all kinds of cutting files with any cartridge they offer. While that is fun for experimenting, just remember that when you go to cut the Cricut will ask you to load the specific cartridge used.

You can use more than one cartridge in a cutting. The options are endless. Bring letters and images from any cartridge into the cutting you are designing. When you are ready to cut, the Cricut will ask you to load each cartridge you used.

Connecting letters together to form one cutting is reffered to as welding. In order to weld letters together it is important to remember to check the welding box for each individual letter or image. Another interesting tidbit about welding is that it removes any scorelines on the image.
