Can a Cricut be used to create letter stencils?

I’m not interested in scrapbooking, but I would like to have a way to make stencils. I’m not very good at cutting out letters and sometimes need them at different sizes than I can get at craft stores.

Yes you could use the negative of the letter cut out for your stencil. they Cricut can cut out heavy cardstock

Like a CNC cutter for paper, or use a CAD program or Illustrator to draw out your own original shapes?

the main reason i am intererested in getting a Cricut is to make stencils for wall painting. also perhaps to cut some vinyl letter for wall verses. what do i all need…just the Cricut
expression? can i use my own stencil paper (mylar)? can i make my own designs? im confused! are there fonts already included or do i have to buy something else that offers fonts ?
