Question by Dee: Is there a way to use a Cricut machine like a printer?
I know a Cricut is a laser cutter but what I am wondering is can I make a template on my computer and have a Cricut machine cut out the letters for me? Or am I only able to use the cartridges available? Is there another machine that would work?

The Cricut is NOT a laser cutter. It uses a blade. You can ONLY use cartridges with the Cricut. You can not use your own designs on the Cricut.

Question by Whisper: Is there a way for my to make my own designs for my Cricut cake machine without buying the expensive Gypsy?
I love my Cricut Cake machine but there just are not many options for cake designs. I can’t afford the Gypsy machine, is there any way for me to input my own creations to my Cricut without the Gyspy?

no there isn’t any other way.
I see 10 different cake cartridges.

try finding Cricut cake blogs for help.

NOTE: I just talked to my sister in law. she teaches Cricut and gypsy classes. You can NOT use your own designs with the Cricut. They gypsy does NOT allow you to use your own designs. It stores all designs from all the cartridges you buy. You can manipulate the designs, but you can not put in your own designs.

Question by : Is there no way to currently cut custom drawn designs with the Cricut?
Everything I find refers me to Sure Cuts A Lot in order to cut custom designs with my Cricut, but the SCAL site says it no longer supports the Cricut. Is the Cricut Design Studio now the only software you can use? It does not let you hand draw custom designs.

I suggest you visit the Provocraft website (yep, www.provocraft.com) and look for their help section on the Cricut. They make it, they should know what it can and can’t do. There is also a way to contact them. That would be your best bet.

I’ve known it’s made in china so exactly where can i buy it? what’s the address?

I hate having to pay so much for cartridges for my Cricut cake and there are a lot of things I can’t get at all, I did some research and found out about sure cuts a lot 2 but seems I am a couple weeks to late (sad I know) but I am hoping I can find something else to use with my Cricut that allows me to use my own fonts and images.
